President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called for an immediate easing of tensions between Pakistan and India, warning that ongoing cross-border clashes in the disputed Kashmir region risk
escalating into a deeper crisis.
Speaking at a press conference following a Cabinet meeting in Ankara on Monday, Erdoğan emphasized, "Türkiye seeks the swift de-escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India before the situation worsens further."
Turning to the situation in the Middle East, Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s unwavering support for Palestine.
"Palestine belongs to the Palestinians," he stated. "Gaza, like East Jerusalem and the West Bank, is the rightful homeland of the Palestinian people. Our brothers and sisters in Gaza, God willing, will continue to live on their ancestral land forever."
Erdoğan also criticized Israel’s blockade of aid to Gaza, stressing that no political goals can be justified by "spilling more blood, killing more children, or depriving people of food and medicine." Photo by World Economic Forum from Cologny, Switzerland, Wikimedia commons.
