Dubai South Properties has unveiled plans for South Bay Mall, the first dedicated retail and lifestyle destination within the rapidly growing Dubai South
Residential District.
Set to span 200,000 square feet across three levels, the mall will feature open-air walkways, rooftop terraces, and views of the community’s lagoon, creating what the developer describes as a relaxed, scenic environment for residents and visitors.
Construction is slated to begin soon, with opening timelines and tenant details to be announced later, the company said.
Retail, dining and wellness under one roof
Designed to enhance everyday living in an area currently underserved by community facilities, South Bay Mall will house:
- 60 retail outlets
- Two anchor stores
- A premium food hall
- Gym, spa and clinic
- Clubhouse
- Parking for more than 400 vehicles
Dubai South Properties said the development aims to create a “vibrant and convenient hub” that brings together shopping, wellness and leisure offerings at the heart of the community.
Part of a bigger vision
The mall forms a key component of the wider South Bay master development, which includes more than 800 villas and townhouses, over 200 waterfront mansions, and a one-kilometre lagoon surrounded by landscaped parks and promenades. The district is being positioned as a fully integrated community focused on wellbeing and connectivity.
Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, called the new mall “an important step” toward building a fully connected urban destination. He said the project aligns with Dubai South’s long-term vision of creating people-centered neighbourhoods designed for sustainable growth. Photo by Hawkeye7, Wikimedia commons.
