Dubai Municipality has unveiled the Middle East’s first integrated recreational vehicle (RV) route, introducing a new model of nature-based tourism designed to expand outdoor leisure options

and strengthen Dubai’s appeal as a regional RV tourism hub.

The initiative establishes a unified and easily accessible network of dedicated RV stations, serviced parks and connected road-trip routes across the emirate. By linking mountain, beach and desert landscapes within a single system, the project aims to offer residents and visitors a distinctive mix of adventure, nature and cultural experiences, while enhancing overall quality of life.

Under the programme, Dubai Municipality will develop the core infrastructure and introduce the regulatory framework needed to support the sector. Private developers and operators will be enabled to build, manage and operate RV routes and parks, opening new investment opportunities and supporting the growth of a comprehensive RV tourism ecosystem in Dubai.

The integrated route is designed to showcase the emirate’s diverse natural environments through well-serviced, family-friendly outdoor destinations. Dedicated stops and parks will provide safe, comfortable and accessible facilities, encouraging longer stays and connected road-trip experiences across multiple locations.

Bader Anwahi, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the project reflects the authority’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in tourism. He noted that by laying the regulatory and infrastructure foundations, Dubai Municipality is encouraging private-sector participation while offering new ways for families and visitors to enjoy Dubai’s natural landscapes.

The initiative aligns with Dubai’s quality-of-life goals and supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, reinforcing the city’s global positioning as a destination that embraces innovation, sustainability and diversified tourism experiences. RV routes and parks will be developed as year-round destinations, integrating hospitality, dining, wellness and recreational facilities suitable for all ages and abilities.

To stimulate industry growth, the programme includes incentives such as subsidies, reduced land costs and support measures for developers and operators. Dubai Municipality will also work with financial institutions to provide flexible payment solutions that encourage RV ownership, rental models and wider market expansion.

The RV network will be promoted through targeted regional and international marketing campaigns in collaboration with tour operators and private-sector partners. The initiative aims to attract manufacturers, service providers and travellers, positioning Dubai as a gateway for RV tourism across the wider region.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the network will allow families to explore Dubai through connected road trips that promote shared outdoor experiences and environmentally responsible travel. Facilities and programming have been developed to ensure comfort, safety and accessibility throughout the year.

Dubai Municipality has invited investors, RV park operators, tour operators and private-sector partners, both local and international, to participate in developing and operating the new RV tourism network. The project is positioned as a long-term platform for sustainable tourism growth, investment and community wellbeing, further strengthening Dubai’s standing as a leading global destination.
